So, I have begun to muse on an upcoming event in my life... it will be something completely new and different and for me, it will be something of a road marker for me. It is happening in about a month's time, on November 19, to be precise. November 19 happens to fall on a Sunday, and so that is it's own dilemma, because Sundays are many times my busiest work days. But November 19 approaches nonetheless and upon its back it bears a personal milestone for me...
I have always battled with the tendency to be a shameless self-promoter... I don't know why, really. The only thing I've really got that's worth promoting is Jesus.
Hey... some of you may be wondering about the recent news, murmurings and/or rumours that you may've heard. Let me take this opportunity to make official the announcement.
Check here and see some of the featured articles that will be published over the next couple of weeks...
Donald was a great guy and a solid youth worker. In both incarnations of MadMinister.com, I've had a page dedicated to Donald's memory. Take a look.
So, here it is... MadMinister.com Version 2. Finally. After almost a year of waiting, the future of this website has arrived.
Inasmuch as this was a defining moment in our nation's history, it was a defining moment for me as a follower of Jesus. I wrote this the evening of 9/11 after I returned to my dorm at University of Houston following a time of prayer at our Baptist Student Ministry.
Dangit, I still get a little choked up thinkin' about it. I gotta' go find some Kleenex.
This is, in short, my testimony, to any followers of Jesus who may come upon this page. However, for those who haven't started a relationship with Jesus yet, I want you to hear my story... and take from it what you will.
The main body was written sometime around 2000, while there is a short addendum that I added today, close to 6 years later.
LOL... It's been a while... and we're back online just in time for... "Star Wars: Episode 3!" In other news, I have just been getting ready for the summer-time.
So, the Spring-time is in full swing right now. Every kind of sport is going on right now, lives are getting filled with cool new stuff... and it's time for the good ole' list of "Life Goals for 2005!" Really, I guess I better get started on them. I mean, c'mon, I'm not getting any younger... and at 28 years old, that kinda' applies.
Today was an alright day. It was somewhat busy, but I have this general feeling of, I dunno, like I'm missing something. The holidays can be a reminder sometimes, I think, of things which are lacking from our lives. I remember last year's holiday season and it was a marked difference from this year (not that it was any better, it was just different).
Today is Turkey Day! Thanksgiving is always cool because it reminds us just how many leftovers one family can produce! For real, it is always cool to focus on what we are thankful for... in American Christianity, there is no shortage of things we regularly take for granted.
Well a couple of cool things have happened during the past couple of days. I'm pleased with both of them, but I still have some minor qualms and I'm waiting to see how God answers my slight reservations.
So this past week was kinda' cool. Last night was kind of boring because we had to go through budget stuff... there's got to be a more fun way to get through that stuff. Anywayz, in other news, I finally heard back from the apartment complex and they got the final (so they say) piece of paperwork that was needed for me to have a complete file so they could make a decision.
Yesterday's SYATP was truly a blessing. I was encouraged by these students... however, I am still trying to understand the ways of God. At least on a personal level. I have no clue what the future holds...
One of my first entries from the original site's "Life in a Box" feature...
