Past Ramblings: Part 7

So, the Spring-time is in full swing right now. Every kind of sport is going on right now, lives are getting filled with cool new stuff... and it's time for the good ole' list of "Life Goals for 2005!" Really, I guess I better get started on them. I mean, c'mon, I'm not getting any younger... and at 28 years old, that kinda' applies.

1. PHYSICAL - I wanna' continue to lose some more weight. I haven't been hitting the gym and I haven't been eating right... this one's self-explanatory. Really, for me, the big thing to work towards is being ready for my Summer schedule. I have, like 6 straight weeks of stuff; Super Summer, Extreme Camp, Mission Mexico, 2 weeks of personal vacation and then Mission 45-North at the end of July. They're all cool things, but I have to get into WAY better shape to be physically ready for them.

2. MENTAL - I have really been convicted of becoming more of a learning leader. I have brought home two stacks of books to read through and journal on. I also am wanting to stretch myself and finish up a couple of screenplays and begin writing my first book. Whether I self-publish or whatever, I would like to have a book in print sometime in the near future... probably a book on my experiences in Student Ministry.

3. FINANCIAL - I have my eye on the ball and I am moving towards being debt-free. I just want to continue but a passionate word... I HATE DISCOVER CARD! Nuff said.

4. SPIRITUAL - I don't want to become one of those pretentious, arrogant scholarly types that's so heavenly-minded they're no earthly good, running around throwing out quotes by Willard and Kierkegaard to maintain an illusion of spiritual depth, but I do desire to learn something of the deeper things of God. I have added Celebration of Discipline to my reading list to begin re-reading. Richard Foster is the man! But only to a degree... C.S. Lewis is still top of the heap in my book (lol, like the play on words?).

5. RELATIONAL - I want to expand my horizons and build up more relationships outside of my church body. I feel that I don't connect enough with other followers of Christ in a wide enough variety... I need to. We all need to. The danger in not doing so is to surround ourselves with people who think and act just like us... and who wants that?

That's enough for now. I'm tired and I need sleep... and remember, ZAQ REX is coming soon!
